Mission
Treetots Gardens are the gardens that give! Teaching kids to nurture themselves & others. The Covid pandemic caused a tremendous amount of understandable anxiety, depression, and distress to the children and young adults of our community. I am establishing this nonprofit organization to provide hands-on guidance to enlighten our youth on the knowledge needed to sustain their own organic garden!
Goals
Create, manage, and support urban organic farms and gardens that are accessible to the public, permanently protected for future generations, and that practice and promote responsible land stewardship.
Decrease anxiety and depression in our youth while also teaching a survival skill that can be passed down through generations.
Community Education
Develop a safe environmental education program focused on planting and experiential learning in the natural world and in the kitchen for children and young adults. Activities include classes, hands-on guidance, events, and youth leadership development.
Food Access for All
Address food security needs by developing alternative food distribution and food donation programs that target our underserved communities.
Reconnect with the Land
Bring people together to celebrate cultural diversity and share the simple pleasures of living life in harmony with nature!

History
Outdoor education is a powerful tool for teaching, but also a fantastic introduction to healthy eating, teamwork, and environmental awareness. Thinking non-stop about urban gardening and our Youth Education program serves. This nonprofit is inspired by my own experience.
Depression and anxiety DOUBLED in children as studies have shown. One in five children suffer from anxiety, depression, distress, and loneliness, caused by covid (recorded in 2021). Since I was a little girl, gardening has always been my go-to for comfort. Connecting with nature and having an understanding on how my food is grown. My goal is to reach children and young adults and establish a sense of security through gardening!
